Um, yeah, not sure what I'll post on here. Mostly it will be a list of how I did things so I can remember them later. So, howtos, instructions, and who knows what else. Maybe I'll write a few thoughts too. I dunno. 'Soul idiotic' comes from Dante's Divine Comedy, Inferno, Canto XXXI.

World of WarCraft and PlayOnLinux
Re-installed Ubuntu and had to re-install World of WarCraft. Wine, Winetricks, and PlayOnLinux all won't install seamlessly for me.
Things needed
- PlayOnLinux, install instuctions for lastest version.
- Download the client from Battle.net
- World of WarCraft copied from wife's Windows
Things to do
- Start PlayOnLinux
- Click add program
- Find World of WarCraft
- Follow PlayOnLinux install instuctions, find the downloaded client.
- Follow World of WarCraft install instructions
- Eventually it crashes so close World of WarCraft and PlayOnLinux
- Find the PlayOnLinux Virtual drives
- Copy World of WarCraft directory from Windows into the World of WarCraft directory in the PlayOnLinux virtual drive.
- Start PlayOnLinux
- Click add program
- Find World of WarCraft
- Follow PlayOnLinux install instuctions, find the downloaded client.
- Follow World of WarCraft install instructions
- Still will probably crash
- Needed to go into the PlayOnLinux configuration for World of WarCraft and change the Wine version to 1.4.1
- PlayOnLinux will create a link to the Wow.exe. Need to create a new link to the Launcher.exe
- Using the launcher.exe finally World of WarCraft will run.
Have had my system hang a couple of times playing so far. Need to look into why.

Panoramas on Ubuntu
Install Apps
From the Ubuntu Software Center install the following
- Hugin Panorama Creator: Just search for "panorama" (no quotes)
- autopano-sift: On the Ubuntu Software Center page for Hugin, click on this addon
Run the program
- Start the program
- Follow the prompts
- Click on Load Images
- Select all of the images you will use
- When it asks for HFOV, Focal Length, and Focal Length Mutliplier for HFOV I put in 70 degrees and leave the others blank or with whatever default it there.
- Once it is done loading the images click on align: if you didn't click on the autopano-sift addon, you have to align them by hand. Sucks.
